Dongfang Chen
Deputy General Manager, CTO, and Dean of the Research Institute.
Associate Professor and Master’s Supervisor at Beijing University of Science and Technology, with a Ph.D. and postdoctoral degree from Tsinghua University. His main research areas include electrochemical power sources and energy storage systems, specifically fuel cells and power systems, electrolytic hydrogen production and hydrogen storage, and electrochemical energy materials and devices. He was selected for the China Association for Science and Technology’s Youth Talent Support Program and the Beijing Association for Science and Technology’s Youth Talent Support Program. He has led or participated in more than 10 projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key R&D Program. He has published over 40 SCI/EI papers, including 2 highly cited ESI papers. He has applied for more than 60 invention patents, including 4 U.S. patents, with over 30 granted. He holds 3 software copyrights and has contributed to the development of 7 group standards, supporting the formulation of national standards. He serves as a guest editor and reviewer for several domestic and international journals, and is a senior member of the China Internal Combustion Engine Society, a member of the China Society of Automotive Engineering, the China Chemical Society, the China Nonferrous Metals Society, the China Renewable Energy Society, the China Hydrogen Energy 100 People Association, an observer of the National Fuel Cell and Flow Battery Standardization Technical Committee, and a member of the Hebei Fuel Cell Standardization Technical Committee. Focusing on advanced testing technology and equipment development, he has independently developed fine testing equipment for fuel cell stacks, filling gaps in both domestic and international markets. He has received awards such as the first prize of the 2021 China Invention Association (1/5), the first prize of the 2022 China Industry-University-Research Cooperation Promotion Association (3/10), the 2021 China Inspection and Testing Society’s Technology Innovation Application Development Achievement Award (3/13), and the second prize of the 2020 China Renewable Energy Society (2/4).
